The Greenwich Police Department has deployed a fleet of four new electric bicycles.
The department now has the electric bikes thanks to an anonymous donor.
The police department says it will use the bikes in the town's central business district.
Officer Robert Smurlo has been with the Greenwich Police Department for two decades.
He says the new ride will certainly help with community policing and engaging with residents and merchants on Greenwich Avenue, which is a little more than a mile long.
"We can get from the top to the bottom or the bottom to the top in a matter of minutes," Smurlo says.
It's not just the speed and mobility for Officer Smurlo, he likes the visibility of the electric bikes too.
"We're very approachable. We're a welcoming team. We're just out here doing our job and keeping the town safe," he says.
