Three men wearing masks and armed with crowbars forced their way into a home Monday night, according to police.
The home invasion happened on Ridge Street at around 10:30 p.m. Police say the homeowners forgot to lock the door and turn on the alarm for the night.
Officers say the two victims were tied up while the men stole from a family safe. They say the men took thousands of dollars in cash and jewelry.
The homeowners, both middle aged, were not hurt. The house, which last sold for $6 million according to real estate records, sits on what is largely a working class block.
Police believe the house was specifically targeted.
Law enforcement sources told News 12 Connecticut that this home invasion is similar to ones that took place in Westchester, though police are unable to say if the same people are involved.
