Police are warning the public of carjackings near Post Road.

Officers say a victim was physically forced out of their car Saturday afternoon and then thrown to the ground by a person who then fled the scene in the stolen car.

Police say the carjackers were wearing hooded sweatshirts and that a blue Audi may have been acting as a trail vehicle.

The victim was not injured and their car was recovered two days later.

Two suspects were arrested in New York.

Police say that recent victims of similar incidents were targeted after visiting businesses located on or near the Post Road (East and West Putnam Avenue).

Detectives say organized auto theft crews are known to operate along these major roadways, identifying and following potential victims before committing thefts.

The Greenwich Police Department reminds residents to remain vigilant, be aware of their surroundings, and immediately report any suspicious activity.
