Greenwich psychologist sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for $2.6 million health care scheme

Federal officials announced on Tuesday that a Greenwich psychologist was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for $2.6 million health care scheme.
They say Michael Lonski, 72, billed insurers for services that he knew were not provided, including billing for patients who were deceased.
Officials said Lonski also submitted claims for dates of service when he was out of the country, and for dates of service when he was hospitalized.
Officials say Lonski submitted more than 80,000 claims.
A federal judge ordered Lonski to pay a restitution of $2,651,294.
Lonski pleaded guilty to health care fraud on Dec.12, 2022 and is required to report to prison on March 25, 2024.
