A water main break in Greenwich has kept Anderson Road closed into the evening.
The incident occurred around 6 a.m. Firefighters say shortly after they first arrived on scene, water under the road caused it to collapse, trapping a firetruck.

The bulk of the water rolled downhill and ended up in the yard and under the home owned by Vera Rancic. She says she and her husband are still making repairs to the basement from the last water main break on the street in May 2020.
"The water finds a way right on our property” she says. “We have almost an acre of property…Whatever happens, it keeps breaking because the system is very old apparently, and it's a perfect spot for all the water to accumulate."
The family says they will continue to pump water out of the home, but will need help to replace what has been destroyed.
Aquarion officials say the main that broke was scheduled for replacement this year. They say the main will be taken out of service.
