Greenwich school closed due to mold concerns

The temporary classrooms being utilized at Hamilton Avenue School in Greenwich have now also been closed. The modular classrooms have been in use for the past three years while the school is being renovated.

The temporary classrooms being utilized at Hamilton Avenue School in Greenwich have now also been closed.
The modular classrooms have been in use for the past three years while the school is being renovated. They will be out of operation for the next week while school officials test air quality.
School workers reported finding mold in parts of the temporary building. Though preliminary tests indicated satisfactory air quality, further testing will be done to ensure the children's safety.
Standardized testing had been scheduled for Monday, but will be postponed. The school district plans on rescheduling the tests.
Parents plan on rallying outside the Board of Education to make sure the public is aware of the school conditions. The rally is scheduled for Monday morning outside the Greenwich Board of Education.
Greenwich's superintendent will hold an emergency meeting Monday evening to address the situation.
