The Greenwich Board of Education is facing a dilemma about where to place some of its students as it waits for the new Hamilton Avenue School to be completed.
In 2005, the old Hamilton Avenue School was demolished. The new school is 90 percent finished and officials hope it will be ready in time for the next school year. However, if it?s not ready, the board of education has to decide where students will attend classes.
If the new school is finished, the district will move on to its next project, the Glenville School. This would mean the Glenville students will have to be moved.
The board is currently looking at 20 different options for locations to place either group of students. District officials say no matter what group of students is moved, the western Greenwich Civic Center will likely be used in the process.
Some Glenville parents say if their children have to move, they would like them to attend classes together.
The board of education hopes to have a final answer by April 24.
