A Greenwich teen was remembered by his loved ones and the Greenwich community Thursday as they marked two years since his death.
As News 12 reported in 2013, Bart Palosz, 15, shot and killed himself after his first day of school during his sophomore year at Greenwich High School. Officials say he was severely bullied by his high school peers.
Lori Keegan, a Norwalk resident, organized the vigil in Bruce Park because she says Bart's death made an impact on her.
Keegan did not know Bart when he was alive but reached out to his family following his passing to learn about his life.
Family and friends confirmed that Palosz struggled with bullying since middle school due to his Polish accent and height.
Loved ones remembered him as a gentle giant who was kind to everyone. Red balloons were released to celebrate the life he lived.
Keegan says her mission is to prevent bullying. She also says she is bringing awareness on bullying into the different school districts in the area.
