Several Guilford firefighters were honored on Saturday for saving the life of a local business owner.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal recognized the first responders during a ceremony on South Broad Street.
"My ultimate admiration -- and gratitude -- goes to these public servants who give of themselves and so do their families every day,” said Blumenthal.
Officials say the men rushed to the aid of a local resident who was suffering a cardiac incident on the Guilford Green on July 13, and their quick action helped to save his life.
The patient, who the firefighters helped save, was in attendance for the ceremony but asked to remain anonymous.
