Habitat for Humanity and Youth United held their Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Saturday.
Volunteers from the area participated in a hands-on day of home building.
One project included building part of the final wall panels needed for a new Habitat home in Fairfield.
The home is the nonprofit's first build in Fairfield.
In Bridgeport, other volunteers installed insulation in a home on Stratford Avenue.
"Many hands make light work. That is something I think about every day. With more hands together, our community helps each other, we have better outcomes," says Megan Perry, a volunteer.
