A Trumbull business held its 10th anniversary celebration on Sunday.
Abi's Falafel on Broadway Road is a certified halal restaurant that features home-made Palestinian food.
Owner Johnny Sakakini says people come from across the tri-state to enjoy his menu.
The restaurant has also won several major awards for its healthy selections.
"There's a lot of allergies, there's a lot of contamination outside, they use a lot of preservatives [that] we don't put in our food. It's nice and clean. You come here, you ask for something, you wait a little because we cook it fresh and we give it to you," Sakakini said.
"I like to share this place with friends so they get to know it, because the food is so fresh, it's delicious, it's healthy. I'm very interested in eating healthy and maintaining good health, so this is my go-to place," said Susan Wernau, of Trumbull.
As part of his 10th anniversary celebration, Sakakini says kids who are accompanied by an adult eat for free throughout January.
