Stratford police have issued an arrest warrant for a Stamford contractor who has allegedly been operating without a license.
Venus Rogers is a full-time caregiver to her daughter, who is a quadriplegic. She says she hired Danny Gainer to fix her home after extensive water damage.
Using a card she gave him to buy supplies, Rogers says Gainer took more than $50,000 out of her bank account, did a little work on the house and disappeared - leaving her home in disarray.
"He's a disgusting human being, and I hope God gives him his karma because he deserves that. He deserves what he gets for what he did to my family. He came after a widowed woman with a handicapped daughter, and women in the house, and he took advantage of us."'
Stratford police, who have been investigating the case for months, say they've now issued an arrest warrant for Gainer, charging him with operating without a license. They say the probe is ongoing and more charges could follow.
News 12 was unable to reach Gainer for comment.
Stratford police is asking anyone with information to contact them.
