WX ALERTS: Heat Advisory until Wednesday 8 p.m., Air Quality Alert until Wednesday 11 p.m.
FORECAST:
Our second heat wave of the season after today. Another 90+ degree day with it feeling close to 100 this afternoon! Today will make 14 days this year we will see 90 degrees or hotter, double from what we saw last year. The Heat Advisory will stay in place until 8 p.m. A few showers & storms that pop up in the afternoon and evening will try to break the heat.
Any storm that develops tomorrow has the potential to become strong or severe - so more isolated today and then widespread tomorrow. Damaging winds and larger hail are the main threats. Some localized heavy downpours likely.
The bigger rain hits Thursday as the front slowly settles in the area. Flooding is a concern more for Thursday. Cooler temperatures take hold starting Thursday, but we really feel the drop for Friday as humidity finally eases up as we open up August. Highs will only be in the 70s. The weekend right now looks pleasant with lower humidity, sunshine, and high temperatures in the lower-80s.
