Thursday brought a torrential downpour that forced Destiny Ramos, her mother, and baby sister to be rescued from their car trapped in a flooded intersection of Keeler and Connecticut Avenues.
It?s proven to be impossible for cars to pass because the water was nearly shoulders deep at its deepest point.
Ramos and her mother grabbed the baby and waited for firefighters? help on the hood of their stalled car, which was filling up with water. Brian Gafferty and his son also waited to be rescued atop his stalled car.
They all escaped with no injuries.
Police strongly advise drivers to avoid flooded roads for their own safety.
