Three high school students from Fairfield and Westchester County were winners in the Palace Theatre's annual Ernie DiMattia Emerging Young Artist Scholarship Awards.

They were awarded for their writing of an original one-act play, and got to witness their voices come to life with a staged reading by professional actors at The Palace in Stamford.

The first place winner was ninth-grader Andrew Casturo-Burnette. He attends Brunswick School in Greenwich and won a $1,000 scholarship.
