A Stamford homeowner says city recycling trucks are dropping glass on the streets in his neighborhood.
Kevin O'Shea believes the glass he has collected from the streets of Stamford's Glenbrook section is leaking out of Stamford city recycling trucks.
The city's recycling supervisor tells News 12 Connecticut that the trucks are outfitted with new seals twice a year. Out of 35,000 trips a week, he says Stamford averages fewer than five complaints each year.
The city says one answer may be private haulers cutting through the neighborhood.
Stamford's recycling department says it has come to the neighborhood several times to investigate the complaints, but so far has found no evidence its trucks are leaking any significant amount of glass.
