Hard work is literally paying off for some college students in Bridgeport.
Housatonic Community College students Marcus Aaron Spearman and Natalia Martins were given scholarships to cover their tuition by Patriot Bank.
School officials say partnerships with local businesses make a critical difference in the lives of students.
"They're stepping in to really help support our students continue their education so that they can receive a degree and get out into the workforce and be productive tax paying citizens," said Dr. Paul Broadie, president of HCC.
The scholars were selected for their commitment to community service and student leadership.
