The Connecticut House will vote today to decide if Gov. Ned Lamont's COVID-19 executive orders will remain intact.
The house will vote at 12:30 p.m. today before the vote moves onto the state senate on Monday.
Earlier this week, Gov. Lamont recommended the mask mandate inside Connecticut schools be lifted at the end of the month leaving it up to each school district whether to implement its own mask rules.
According to officials, the state's infection rate has been on the decline and now sits at just over 5%.
The Connecticut Departments of Public Health and Education could still have the authority to bring back the statewide mask mandate through the end of the school year— should there be another wave of COVID-19.
