Hundreds of people turned out at Penfield Pavilion on Fairfield Beach Sunday for a market featuring a wide array of crafts, foods and other specialties.

Organizers say the market features local produce, baked goods and much more.

One attraction called "Our Woven Community" is meant to empower female refugees by teaching them sewing skills, the organization says.

"We feel that we've really made a difference in our community and we are so proud of the women who have come out of our program," said Erica Mann, who represents the nonprofit.

Organizers say the upcoming Summer Market will debut on Thursday, May 7th at the Sherman Green in downtown Fairfield.
