The stormy weather Sunday did not stop hundreds of people from going out to Seaside Park in Bridgeport for the Great Street Parade.
The Great Street Parade is one of the great traditions of Bridgeport, celebrating the community and marking the start of summer festivities.
The Barnum Festival was founded in 1949 to build community spirit across the region and to pay homage to P.T. Barnum, the showman, entrepreneur and philanthropist who devoted his life to promoting events like this one.
Organizers say they had one of their best turnouts ever, despite the rain.
