Some 200 teenagers spent their Saturday wrapping presents for Connecticut kids in need.
Saint Luke?s LifeWorks in Stamford organized the event, which provides three wrapped gifts for each of the 1,500 children and teens in need. According to Saint Luke's Special Events Manager Takeia McAlister, the wrapping party and gift collection are community efforts.
?Everybody is involved,? McAlister says. ?Agencies, corporations, civic organizations, high schools, middle schools, individuals. Everybody is involved in some capacity.?
All the gifts were donated for children affected by homelessness, poverty, HIV and AIDS.
Another gift wrapping party will be held next week.
