Police say a minor two-car accident on the northbound I-95 quickly progressed into a 13-car pileup Sunday, resulting in road closures and traffic delays.
According to authorities, a minor two-car crash occurred on the northbound side of I-95 right before an overpass by exit 4 in Greenwich. Another motorist witnessed the minor accident and pulled over to help. Other vehicles on the road didn?t notice the car had stopped to assist the accident victims and an additional 10 cars crashed into the scene.
Police say two people suffered minor injuries and were taken to Stamford Hospital. I-95 northbound near exit 4 was closed briefly while tow trucks removed the vehicles from the crash scene. The road was reopened before 3 p.m.
