As dropping temperatures cause snowy sidewalks to freeze over, Norwalk business owners and homeowners may start facing fines if they don?t get rid of the ice on their properties.
According to officials, the city takes care of cleanup if a resident?s home or business is on a designated path to a school. However, in other cases, the residents themselves are responsible for deicing their own property. If not, they may have to pay.
Business owners say they have tried their best to get rid of the ice, but they maintain it?s difficult in the low temperatures.
With temperatures expected to rise in the next couple of days, those chopping and chipping away at the ice may get a reprieve.
