The icy conditions Sunday morning are being blamed for an accident that killed an 88-year-old woman from Woodbridge.
New Haven police say Elizabeth Mohr lost control of her car on North Frontage Road and crashed into a utility pole at around 8 a.m.
Officers say a group of nurses from Yale-New Haven Hospital were nearby and tried to help Mohr, but they couldn't save her life.
Police believe Mohr was driving too fast for the icy conditions.
