An injured hawk is on the mend after being rescued in Danbury Wednesday afternoon.
Deputy Chief Bernie Meehan and Firefighter John Whitehead helped recover the wounded bird on Mountainville Road.
They safely gathered the raptor into a dog crate.
The hawk was then taken to Wildlife in Crisis in Wilton for treatment.
