A man was killed and another was injured during a shooting in Bridgeport, investigators say.
The incident happened at Quick Stop Barber Shop on Pequonnock Avenue around 8 p.m.
Police say a gunman walked in and started firing, hitting a 39-year-old man in the arm and neck. He is seriously injured.
The second victim, identified by family members as 40-year-old Jamain Allen, was found dead in a parking lot next to the shop, shot several times in the head. His girlfriend, Shalishea Laws, tells News 12 Connecticut he was a barber here who had just finished up his shift when the killing took place.
She says the shooting was not targeted.
Police say they're checking surveillance video and talking with witnesses in their search for answers. Laws says there's no doubt in her mind that he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
His family says Allen was a hard worker devoted to his family and things will never be the same without him.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Bridgeport authorities at 203-576-TIPS.
