The owner of a Bridgeport auto parts business says he is grateful that police have arrested one of the men allegedly seen on surveillance video robbing his workers.
The incident took place on Aug. 5 at East Coast Auto Parts on River Street. Police have arrested Jason Marrero for allegedly robbing the business, along with an accomplice.
Surveillance video shows the two men entering the business. Police say somebody who saw the video on News 12 Connecticut helped them identify the gunman.
They say another factor in helping them identify Marrero was DNA evidence taken from a hat left at the crime scene.
Deputy Chief Adam Radzimirski says he is proud of the way everybody worked together in helping to solve the case.
East Coast Auto Parts co-owner Bruno Soares believes Marrero was tipped off about where the cash was stored and how to make a getaway behind his business.
Police say their investigation is ongoing. Marrero is being held on $250,000 bond and is scheduled to go before a judge on Oct. 28.
