Manhattan College baseball players hoped to extend their 11-game winning streak when they battled Fairleigh Dickinson University in a non-league matchup Wednesday.Manhattan Jasper Nunzio Franzese hit a double into centerfield in the fifth inning, allowing teammate Ruben Perez to come home. The RBI put the Jaspers up 3-0. Manhattan went on to score six runs in the inning. Freshman pitcher Zac Goyer struck out three batters. The Jaspers easily beat Fairleigh Dickinson 9-0.
Manhattan extended its winning streak to 12 games, the nation's longest, and proved its trip to the NCAA Tournament last year was no fluke.
