Judge sets date for DiMeo probable cause hearing

Prosecutors say Chris DiMeo, 25, killed Kim and Tim Donnelly in February of 2005. He has already been sentenced to a life sentence in New York for the murder of a Long Island jeweler. Despite fighting extradition, DiMeo was brought to Connecticut and formally charged with the Fairfield murders in March.
DiMeo?s Tuesday court appearance lasted only a few minutes. During the proceedings, the judge chose the May date for his probable cause hearing. The suspect did not speak.
Members of the Donnelly family were in the courtroom for DiMeo?s appearance. They did not wish to speak to News 12 Connecticut on camera. However, they did say off-camera they are happy DiMeo is in Connecticut to face charges for the Fairfield murders.
