Sixteen jurors were selected Friday for the trial of Kosta Diamantis, one of Gov. Ned Lamont's former budget deputies.
Diamantis is accused of bribery and extortion.

Prosecutors say Diamantis demanded bribes in exchange for lucrative school construction contracts.
The trial begins on Monday in federal court in Bridgeport and is expected to last a month.

Lamont may be called to testify.
"I didn't hire him; I fired him. As soon as I found out there was something untoward going on, then the feds came in and now there's a trial. We'll see how it sorts out," he said.
Two co-defendants have already pleaded guilty.
