Kids in Crisis is preparing for their annual holiday shopping event at North Greenwich Congregational Church.
Families who work with the nonprofit can shop for toys and clothes Friday, Saturday and Monday.
The items were donated from special toy and clothing drives.
Organizers say they are enough toys, coats and clothes to provide over 400 kids with gifts.
The organization has a 24/7 helpline and provides emergency shelter along with counseling for children of all ages and their families. They also offer community education programs and programs for the LGBTQ community.
Its executive director says the need for their services throughout the year has exceeded years past.
"This is really a compilation of everything coming together because of the holidays but the need is 365 days a year. Families are constantly in need; that need is growing. Gift cards for food is something we pass out all too often," says Shari Shapiro.
Kids in Crisis works with over 6,000 children and families annually.
