A local girl scout troop is spreading kindness Thursday using special quotes and pictures painted on beach stones.
Emma Acri, a junior Girl Scout, says her troop is painting rocks along Walnut Beach as part of the 'Kindness Rocks Project' to inspire and brighten a person's day.
"They could take a walk and just pick one of these rocks and put it anywhere in their house and then when they're sad or just not feeling great they can pick it up and it can lighten their day up," she said.
Participants say the idea of the project is that no matter how small an act of kindness may be, they hope people will continue to pay it forward.
The Kindness Rocks Project was originally started in Cape Cod, Mass.
