Klaff’s chairman Joe Passero confirmed the store will shut down for good Friday afternoon.
Klaff’s has been in South Norwalk since 1921. About 80 employees in South Norwalk and Scardale, New York will lose their jobs.
Passero says sales have dropped up to 30 percent in the last year, largely due to online competition, and that health insurance became too expensive.
Klaff’s is working with their lender to get customers who already paid for items refunded eventually.
