Gov. Ned Lamont says the new omicron variant may cause a flood of booster and even first-time vaccine dose appointments in Connecticut.
The governor commented on the new variant today during an event in Stamford.
"We've been through a number of variants, starting with delta. Remember just a year ago and how fast this happened and how we adapted? We're going to adapt to omicron as well," Lamont said. "We do know if you get that booster, you are virtually fail-safe, so if I have one urgent message to everybody - this is a reminder."
The governor says everyone should get the booster as soon as possible.
