Lamont: Those who fail to quarantine, fill out travel form after traveling from impacted states subject to fine

Gov. Ned Lamont announced Monday that anyone who fails to quarantine or fill out a travel health form when traveling to Connecticut from states impacted by COVID-19 will be subject to a $1,000 fine.
BRIEFING NOTES:
- There are 162 new coronavirus cases in the state, bringing the total up to 48,055. There have been 10 additional deaths, bringing the total of COVID-19 deaths in the state to 4,406.
- Lamont says the state is giving superintendents until Friday to submit plans on reopening schools.
- Connecticut's COVID-19 infection rate is at 0.8%, Lamont says. He says most of the U.S. has an infection rate of 9%.
- Lamont says the state will continue to limit the spread of COVID-19 from out-of-state travel.
- There is a mandatory 14-day quarantine when traveling to Connecticut from impacted states.
- All travelers from impacted states must complete an online travel health form. This applies to all travelers regardless of how they travel to the state.
- Spot checks will be conducted at Bradley Airport.
- Lamont says anyone who does not quarantine or fill out the form is subject to a $1,000 fine.
- Officials say schools are working on several models (including remote learning and having students attend school on certain days) of learning for the fall.
