The lawyer of a man suspected of robbing a Norwalk jewelry store is asking police to prove his connection to the break-in. Police say Shalliek Ivory, 28, and three others allegedly held up the Jewelry Gallery on Westport Avenue last Friday. According to authorities, the robbery went awry when an employee triggered a silent alarm. Investigators say an officer pursued Ivory until the suspect crashed his car into a nearby house and fled, requiring a pair of police dogs to track him down. Ivory's attorney says his client was never identified by anyone who worked in the store at the time of the crime. He is currently being held on $100,000 bond.
