Several young Black men say they were harassed in a racial incident at Cove Beach in Stamford Saturday.
They say a white man yelled at them saying they could not launch their boat where they were.
The attorney for the men, Darnell Crosland, sent News 12 video of the incident. Crosland says the white man in the video is Mike Dudek from Stamford.
The men say Dudek became very confrontational and later pepper-sprayed them and an off-duty Bridgeport police officer who was with them.
Crosland sent a letter to Stamford Police Chief Tim Shaw demanding that police take some action. Shaw responded by saying "We do believe the event escalated into a racial incident."
Crosland is demanding that police charge Dudek with assault and intimidation based on bigotry.
News 12 reached out to Dudek at his company but has not heard back.
Stamford police say they are investigating.
