The legendary New Haven staple Sally's Apizza officially opened in Stamford Thursday.

News 12's Shosh Bedrosian says the line to get pizza has been long since the pizzeria opened at 3 p.m.

The pizza is carefully crafted by the crew in a 12-by-12 foot pizza oven, which is bigger than the original Sally's.

The iconic restaurant says it worked to make this location as authentic as the original with similar memorabilia hanging on the walls - but with a modern twist with the furniture.

The owner's sons tell News 12 their father's legacy still lives on, but want people to know that despite a new location - it's the same old pizza.
