Lego has provided more details into its impending move from Connecticut to Massachusetts.
The Enfield-based toy company says it’s moving headquarters to Boston in 2025.
The company’s president says they will be moving into a 100,000-square-foot space, across five floors in a building on Boylston Street on the city’s Back Bay.
Lego announced earlier this year that the company would be moving out of Enfield.
"As our workforce has evolved and our needs for this location have evolved, and we think about having an Americas regional headquarters, Boston is a site, when we took a look at all the different factors that we were concerned about, it seems to make the most sense,” says Lego of the Americas President Skip Kodak. “And offers the opportunity for many of our current employees to have a logical way if they choose to, to follow their roles to Boston."
The company has been in Enfield since 1975 and currently has about 740 employees there. Lego says more than half of that workforce will be moving to Boston.
