Norwalk residents went to City Hall Saturday morning to exchange old, incandescent light bulbs for packs of LED light bulbs.
The new initiative is possible due to a $15,000 grant the city received because of its involvement in community outreach programs.
Officials say they are giving away 6,000 LED light bulbs to residents.
Eversource customers who want swap their old bulbs for the more energy efficient variety were encouraged to go to City Hall.
Officials say the change will help make the city more environmentally friendly.
