Local deli counters and shoppers continue grappling with a deadly listeria outbreak linked to certain Boar's Head products.

The company is recalling seven million pounds of ready to eat products like liverwurst, ham, bologna and more.

It comes after Boar's Head recently recalled more than 200,000 pounds of sliced poultry and meat, causing thousands of deli counters to close temporarily.

"Seven million pounds is crazy," Jazmine Brown, of New London says. "That's a lot of people who probably tasted or ate it. That's scary."

The outbreak has killed at least two people, including one in New Jersey. Dozens of people in 13 different states have also been hospitalized.

One local deli is praising Boar's Head handling of the situation. "You do freak out a little bit," Michelle Petridis, of Mike's Deli in Norwalk says. "But they came right away and checked everything, and I was good."
