Millions of people are marking the Jewish New Year today.
The holiest of days on the Jewish calendar began with Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, at sundown on Sunday evening.
Local congregations like Beit Chaverim Synagogue in Westport tell us the holiday is not just for celebrating, but also for learning.
The high holy holiday extends until nightfall on Tuesday.
Eight days later, Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement, will be observed.
