A $9 billion deal between Lockheed Martin and United Technologies' Sikorsky Aircraft business has been made. The announcement came from Lockheed Martin just before 8:00 a.m. Monday.
Lockheed Martin has been working on the deal with United Technologies to secure the company's aerospace division.
This is Lockheed's largest asset since it bought Martin Marietta Corp for about $10 billion two decades ago.
Sikorsky employs 8,000 workers in Connecticut.
