Local college students teamed up with a Westport man to build a futuristic playhouse for a sick young boy.
The Think 3-D Lab, described as a one-room schoolhouse of the 21st century by its creator, is the result of a Make-A-Wish Foundation collaboration.
The wish came from a 10-year-old boy who wanted somewhere he could play with Legos and Minecraft.
It took Mark Yurkiw and a group of Norwalk Community College students about six or seven weeks to complete.
The house includes a solar-powered 3-D printer and Lego kits.
Inspired by the project, Yurkiw now says he wants to start a nonprofit organization in which community college students will build more labs while working toward their education.
