A new body camera law is now in effect in Connecticut.
The new law was signed by Gov. Dannel Malloy yesterday in Meriden.
The law will create a new grant program that will reimburse cites and towns that buy body cameras for police officers.
It also encourages the hiring and promoting of minority officers and creates new standards for investigating officer-related shootings.
