A man was arrested after an invasion inside his Monroe home.
A home along Shelton Road was cordoned off Friday as police investigated two connected incidents there.
Police say the first occurred Thursday night, when a homeowner opened his back door and at least two intruders forced their way inside. They allegedly demanded money and beat him up, but the man managed to run to the home of a neighbor, who called police around 8:30 p.m.
Police say the victim suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene.
Just before 1 a.m. Friday, officers were back at the same address, this time because they say the victim shot through a window when he thought the intruders returned. No one was hit by the bullet.
Police did arrest the alleged victim, 77-year-old Ismail Mamudovski, because they say there's a protective order in place prohibiting him from having a gun.
Mamudovski faces several charges, including carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal possession of a firearm and violation of a protective order. He was arraigned Friday in Bridgeport .
At this point, police say it does not appear that the home invasion was a random act of violence.
