A man was convicted of manslaughter Friday in the 2014 accident that killed Tyron Tate, of Bridgeport.
Dennis Berrios, one of Tate's friends for years, ran him down on Noble Avenue. The 21-year-old Tate was walking with several other people at the time.
Berrios was also found guilty of tampering with evidence, intimidating a witness and evading responsibility. His sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 9.
Members of Tate's family say they still feel the pain of losing him.
"The only place I get to see my son is at the cemetery," says his mother, Janet Lopez. "I'm just happy for my baby. He got his justice."
