A 34-year-old man is in critical condition after a Saturday evening shooting near a Bridgeport apartment complex.

Police say the shooting happened on the 20 block of St. Stephens Road just before 6 p.m. near the P.T. Barnum Apartments.

Detectives say eight shots that were fired injured the victim.

The shooting happened after a 46-year-old man was killed, also at the P.T. Barnum Apartments in early August.

"While these two shootings are alarming to us, and the community members, we are on top of it. We can't say at this time whether or not they are related. The victim's car was towed to the evidence impound garage," said Bridgeport Police Department Detective Jeff Holtz.
