Police in Stamford are investigating the death of a man found unconscious Monday night on West Main Street.

Police say the man was still breathing and showed no signs of injury when they found him. The victim, described as a 27-year-old Hispanic male, was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities say the man carried no identification, but was in possession of a large amount of cash and a list of phone numbers.

Police say an autopsy will be performed Wednesday. Anyone with information about the victim is asked to contact Stamford police at 203-977-4417.
