A Bronx man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the 2013 slaying of a blind woman.
Duvale Stevens had already pleaded guilty to manslaughter for stabbing Andrea Hurd 27 times and throwing her body off a roof in the Bronx in 2013.
Stevens declined to address the victim's family in court at his sentencing.
Prosecutors say the 37-year-old killed Hurd because he wanted her disabilities benefits card. When she refused to give it to him, they say he killed her.
Her family says since she was blind, disabled and barely 5 feet tall, Hurd didn't stand a chance against Stevens, who is 6 feet 2 inches tall.
